Ballet + Taryn = WOW

So here's the bottom line :)
(btw this was princess ballet and the last day of class they got to wear anything they wanted) :)
Taryn is our first daughter and I am just amazed at how natural she is at ballet.  Crazy natural.  She has her arms out her toes pointed.  After a couple of community classes I'm starting to really notice how talented she is (i'm trying not to be biased or make assumptions, but when your daughter is the only one who can do somersaults in a row and who is pointing her toes like crazy and arms straight out I'm thinking she's a natural)... She also hears the music and dances according to what she hears, cool huh.

Do you think that is nuts?
This young?
I kinda do, but it keeps making itself so known to all around her.

The focus when she is listening to music.
Keep in mind these are with the local community center she has had no regular dance classes, except mommy (which was only a couple years and a ballet course at local college)...

Anyway, I feel nuts but i've gotta get her plugged in somewhere.

Check out the focus here...

And here.
I'm not trying to brag here, just amazed.
Okay I gotta let the other kids shine in another post to come.

Fancy = T

This is my daughter to a "T"
  • She loves everything fancy
  • where i am rather plain (just like the mom in the book)
  • She absolutely loves hair, make-up, nails ect.
  • confession i do her nails more than mine
  • She adores acting like a princess and playing princess with mommy
  • i'd rather make the tea for the princess and sew her outfit together
  • She LOVES anything sparkly, pretty and pink
  • I adore anything that's functional, warm colored and practical.
  • No Matter what she "loves loves loves her mommy"
  • and I just adore her "fancy or not fancy"
Thank you God for this precious daughter

Winter at Squaw

We were SO excited to go to squaw this year.  We booked this trip with jason's work not knowing the weather situation and just praying there would be great snow upon our arrival.
Well.
There was a ton of snow, God definitely answered our prayers.
It took us five and a half hours to get up there and three hours forty minutes to get home.
It took forever to get there, but it was SO worth it.
The kids the first day just looking in awe of the wonder of snow.
This is Taryn and Nolan's first time in the snow.

It just looked magical after a night of snowfall.

A sledding trail we found, the kids loved it.
Up and down...
The kids and their silly faces.
Taryn and I waiting for the boys.
 Here they come.

A snowy day.
Yeah Dylan.  He got the flu, but he managed okay.  Even took ski lessons on day three.
Our snow princess.  She was so content just sitting and eating the snow.

Nolan loved sledding
The rest are all mixed up and mainly for the grandparents. :)
Enjoy.

Jason took this thanks honey, so cute.
Nolan thought Jason was amazing for building a huge snowball...
The resort, we've stayed in the summer, but not in the winter, so beautiful
Everyday we waited and waited for the ice skating to open and of course it was getting ready to open right before we left.  O'well next time.
Dylan and I had snowball fight.
The boys went skiing in olympic village.  The weather was kinda harsh that day, it was the only day it was like this, but Dylan had SO much fun.

Crazy as it sounds we did go swimming and in the hot tub while it was snowing.
Our car.

Taking a break from digging with Daddy...
Just beautiful.
More fun ones to come.

There would be eight feet of powder in Tahoe in March?
Crazy.
Here's where we are headed:)
We've stayed in the summer, but never in the Winter so we are looking forward to it so much.
Pictures soon to follow.
Have a great week everyone!

A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM (SO Funny)

A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM
If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong with you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine.
Dear Diary,

For my birthday this year, my husband purchased a week of personal training at the local health club.

Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try.

I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Christo, who identified himself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear.

Friends seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.

MONDAY:

Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Christo waiting for me. He is something of a Greek god-- with blond hair, dancing eyes, and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!!

Christo gave me a tour and showed me the machines... I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which he conducted his aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring!

Christo was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time he was around. This is going to be a FANTASTIC week!!

TUESDAY:

I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Christo made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air then he put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. His rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT! It's a whole new life for me.

_______________________________

WEDNESDAY:

The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot.

Christo was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members.. His voice is a little too perky for that early in the morning and when he scolds, he gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying.

My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Christo put me on the stair monster. Why would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Christo told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. He said some other crap too.

_______________________________

THURSDAY:

Neanderthal was waiting for me with his vampire-like teeth exposed as his thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late-- it took me that long to tie my shoes.

He took me to work out with dumbbells. When he was not looking, I ran and hid in the restroom. He sent some skinny witch to find me.

Then, as punishment, he put me on the rowing machine-- which I sank.

FRIDAY:

I .... Christo more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic, anorexic, little aerobic instructor. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat him with it.

Christo wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the darn barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich.

The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director?

________________________________

SATURDAY:

Satan left a message on my answering machine in his grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing his voice made me want to smash the machine with my planner; however, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel..

SUNDAY:

I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my husband will choose a gift for me that is fun-- like a root canal or a hysterectomy. I still say if God had wanted me to bend over, he would have sprinkled the floor with diamonds!!!

Since we are going through Proverbs as a family my latest favorite is and this is the NIV Adventure Bible.

"My son, hold on to good sense and the understanding of what is right. Don't let them out of your sight. They will be life for you. They will be like a gracious necklace around your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety. You will not trip and fall, When you lie down you won't be afraid When you lie down you will sleep soundly."
