Hanging Christmas Cards

This year I wanted to display the Christmas cards a little differently so i took shiny tinsel type ribbon and strung it on the sides of our old window wall hanging.
Then I took little tiny close pins and am hanging all the pictures.
Easy and Cute.
Thank you everyone for your cards.
Come January we will be praying for all of you "one by one".
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas + Three Fun Teaching Tools

Anyone with kids knows...things take longer sometimes.
Well,
this has been our year to take a little longer getting our cards out.
I just ordered them today, Dec 12th, yikes!

We have been doing a lot of other activities this month to drive home the importance of Christmas and the birth of Jesus.
We have this A-Z advent pre-school young children coloring book where you do a page a day and it's wonderful.
This is the one devotional I've found that i just love and it's only .99 cents on Amazon:)
This year I've had a plan and came prepared for December and it's been so cool to see the kids grow in their knowledge and have more fun as a family.
These are two essential DVD's for Christmas with young children:)
The "Very First Noel" is just a awesome DVD all about the birth of Christ.
It's cute and you can pause and talk about things throughout the movie.

This is another essential DVD for young children:)
"A wowie ... Christmas"  SO cute.
Anyway back to photos the one activity I put off.  We aren't the most photo friendly family, we try but it's hard to get a good photo.
These turned out okay though.
What do you think?
Here's a preview of some photos we just had done.
It was a toss up, which pictures to use.
So I went with the below:)

This is the outcome and to all those close friends out there, I'm hoping to get them to you by Christmas!
Merry Christmas.
What's cool about shutterfly if you post on a blog or facebook you get $10 off your next purchase.  Cool huh.

Give Thanks

Give Thanks.
I Mean really "Give Thanks".
Despite the recession and what you would like to have and don't "Give Thanks".
We all really...really...really have a lot to be thankful for.

A little story on our side:)
Our oldest whom we love dearly can only live for today.  It just kills him to think or anticipate fun for tomorrow.  Really.  Because of his severe ADHD he can drive you crazy if he knows he will go to "Disneyland" tomorrow or out of town ect...
So.
We live for "today" not tomorrow and we are thankful for today.
It's biblical really, but we live with a child who reminds us constantly to hold our tongue and live just for "today"
and
be
"Thankful".
 Enjoy your holiday
and
"Give Thanks"

Random December Photos

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Taryn and Nolan with a little boy/girl dress up.  Taryn and Nolan both got dress up this year, especially Nolan due to the family seeing him head to toe in ballet and girly dress up.
Taryn and her cute self checking out the tree Christmas Eve before Church.
Taryn and Nolan Kissing...
Butterfly's in Pismo with cousins.
Nolan and Dylan climbing a tree out front at my parents in SLO
Nolan in all his cuteness at my parents with new buzz PJ's and Buzz plush.
 The kids opening stockings...
So thankful for this wonderful Christmas holiday to reflect on Jesus's birth and what is most important.
Hope your Christmas was extra special this year.

Father's

Happy Father's Day

"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine dresser" (Isaiah 9:6)

This is Jason's Grandpa "Pop Pop"
You can see the resemblance.
He passed a year ago
Jason and i were able to visit him when Dylan was little in PA, we had hoggies (which we LOVED) and they served shoe fly pie for breakfast.  i'm not sure if the shoe fly pie was normally eaten at breakfast or if that was just Jason's tradition.  I didn't know him real well, but am thankful for the time we were able to spend with him; he was a very sweet Grandpa who welcomed everyone into the Weller family.
In any case
Happy Father's Day Jason
I love you

Black, White & Red

Halloween 2009
The cutest pirate ever and his two puppies

So funny the kids all ended up wearing black, white and red. Didn't even plan it that way, but it turned out so cute. Great pirate look Dylan.
We were so disappointed this year because our church along with the transition of pastors decided not to have the harvest festival so we did just a little trick or treating.
we literally went down the street to the corner a couple houses and back down to our house on the opposite side of the street.
(for all those out of towners...i know our neighborhood doesn't look like much, but see the house across the street the bluish green one...it sold for a little under $800 thousand, CRAZY...it's in a great school district)

Dylan did such a good job holding their hands.

Grrr.......

Jason and Dylan did pumpkins together. Jason is always so creative. Nolan is actually tasting the pumpkin in this photo.
We are off to say "hello" to our fellow neighbors and boy did all the elderly people on our street love seeing the kids.

We had a nice night together as a family. We were so glad we just stayed together and at home this year. It was really low key.

These are at home...
Dylan's good friend, Grace our neighbor
twins cooling off...my neighbor and i were watching the kids and looked over and saw Nolan upside down in the bucket...luckily there was only less than a half of foot of water left from the water gun fights...whew... (we were only a couple of feet away)
Some shots of Nolan and taryn in their matching little outfits
Yes they are both officially walking and "Yes" it is crazy at our house...

Jason took these pictures (before clean up)

Easter 2009

Easter
Easter. What a wonderful day to celebrate Jesus's Resurrection.
We spent the twins first Easter in Monterey California at my Aunt's house. We enjoyed spending the day with the kids and my parents. It turned out to just be a beautiful day at the coast. This year I decided it would be fun for Dylan (and the twins next year) to find one special egg first with a clue in it to find his Easter basket. So the clue for the "special" egg was in a delivery spot (mailbox). So he found the big blue egg and then the clue read "you will find your Easter basket in something big and round".
It made finding the Easter basket so much fun.
So here's the pictures...
He finally found it The perfect hiding place for a Easter Basket

What is that binky doing in her mouth? So funny to see her with a binky (so funny, but not funny huh...) In any case for some reason after i stopped nursing Taryn at eight months she found a binky around the house and started sucking. Both boys love their blankets, but no binky's. Nolan thinks it's a game to take her binky and suck on it and then give it back. In any case we are in the process of weaning her from the binky so it doesn't become a issue... We are down to naps and bedtime...but on this day she was really tired so she clung to it in the early evening.

There were so many great photo opportunities at this house. I have some more photos to come on the other camera...so more to come...

Since we are going through Proverbs as a family my latest favorite is and this is the NIV Adventure Bible.

"My son, hold on to good sense and the understanding of what is right. Don't let them out of your sight. They will be life for you. They will be like a gracious necklace around your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety. You will not trip and fall, When you lie down you won't be afraid When you lie down you will sleep soundly."

Proverbs 3: 21-24
