Princess & Pirate 4th Birthday Party

Nolan and Taryn's 4th Birthday Party.
We love you Nolan and Taryn and are so thankful for you!
We can't believe you are FOUR already it has gone by SO fast, too fast.
We love you and feel so blessed to have you as son and daughter, brother and sister.
You are both a gift from God and a joy to raise!

Super fun to use itsy this year and purchase pdf files to do the party.
A little decor.  I know a little over done this year, but super fun.
We had breadsticks for swords, meatballs for cannon balls (mini party ones from trader joes, fruit cabobs, malt balls and some heathly snacks and stuff for adults.
We had two tables pirate and princess with a craft on it to begin with.  We started with decorating swords with jewels (oriental trading company), and crowns for the girls again (oriental trading company).
                                     We'll start with the princess
 Taryn doing her crown
The girls were invited to wear dress up.
I also had a ton of dress up in their rooms for them to change into or change throughout the party.
It was cute i think Taryn wore three different dresses.
I had the kids get their swords and wands and play a little game of balancing the money on their swords and wands and dump in bucket...didn't work to well, but o'well. They had fun.

Moving on from the cute princess's to the adorable pirates!!!

Nolan making his crown.
We also had two more games hunting for treasure in water and pin the pirate patch on the pirate.

And then there was cupcakes and cake.
A friend from our bible study made the cupcakes and I purchased the little cakes.
Okay these little cakes are PERFECT for pre-schoolers, plenty for everyone and just too cute.  Great for twins.
The toppers for the cupcakes were all from Nancy's on Itsy.
We had a princess cake (barbie really) and a pirate cake.
Of course we needed a new princess outfit for the blowing out of candles.
Is that outfit #2?

Goodie bags for the kids
Had to throw this one in there this was her little friends princess outfit i think this is outfit
number three.
Very fun and o'so cute.

One of my favorite parties to have, spend a little too much time doing it, but it was fun.
The morning two days later Nolan says in his bed,
"Mom I loved my birthday party".
Well for a mom that just makes it all worth it.

Mad Lab Birthday Party

This was probably one of my favorite parties for Dylan.
Dylan was super excited about it.
Dylan and i did some research online and came up with some fun ideas.
THEN.
I discovered
Steve Spangler Science
When planning a science party there is hardly anything out there for the "science" theme in party stuff.
However, when you get a little creative and go to Steve's Website you can get all sorts of ideas.  I also got tons of ideas online.
The caution stickers have a pdf file
Inside the test tubes are gobstoppers from the $1 store.
We made snow, slime, magic sand, made tornado's and set off coke bottles with mentos.

Kids came and went all afternoon.  Here's a shot of some of them.
This is Dylan "best buddy" a fifth grader named Eric.  He's our neighbor as well.
He is teaching and helping Dylan in so many neat ways,
great kid such a blessing to Dylan.
Mentos let off in a bottle.
The front door. I just can not seem to throw a party without balloons. I know i don't need them, but it just doesn't seem like a party if we don't have balloons.
Some party decor, our science table before it got all messy.

My attempt at some science cupcakes with a mad scientist.
Got the idea online.
No laughing please!  J/k the kids loved them.
Dylan we love you and are just so thankful for you.
Happy Birthday!

Mad Lab Birthday Party

O' my goodness i just love it when things come together, especially for a party.
We started out brainstorming for Dylan's 8th birthday.
It began as a Volcano party, but mommy couldn't come up with a ton of ideas (bummer)...
So.
We went to a "Mad Lab" party
Experiments, lab coats, slime...
Keep an eye out for the upcoming post in a couple weeks.
I wasn't sure if i could get it together, but we are getting there.
It's going to be all boys and a lot of them...
FUN!
Hope your having a great Friday!

Nolan and Taryn's 2nd Birthday

Nolan and Taryn are Two
The Twins turned "Two" over the weekend
What a great time we had celebrating their birthday!
Overall we feel so blessed so many people came over to celebrate their special milestone of
"2"
Thank you.
A little party decor...
The Monkey cake was from Martha Stewarts website. It was banana cake with butter cream frosting. We thought it was yummy and o'so cute.
(hint to husband...fancy new camera would make pictures o'so much clearer...patience)
The best part was we could share the afternoon with friends and family celebrating Nolan and Taryn's 2nd birthday.
I can't believe they are two time has gone by so fast.
We are so blessed with both of them.
Nolan
you are so sweet, tender, affectionate conscientious.
You are happy (most of the time) easy going and gentle, loves animals and soft things.
Nolan you have warmed my heart in so many ways, you are just a cute little teddy bear. I(we) just love how cuddly you are when we read books, so ticklish and just so "silly".
We are so thankful for the way God made you Nolan we just love you to pieces.
"Happy Birthday Nolan we love you"
Dylan and Nolan trying to figure out the eating Cabbage Patch Kid (hilarious).

Taryn
What a sweetie pie.
You are affectionate, spunky and sweet in every way. People just can't put you down your so squishy. You love anything pink, purple, girlish, princess it's crazy, but i love it.

You have softened our family and brought more girl around this house and made me want to me more girlish too (which isn't a bad thing). Taryn we are so thankful for all the love you bring and who God made you to be, we just love you so much.
"Happy Birthday Taryn"

We had two more sets of twins join our family over the weekend :)

Happy Birthday!

Dylan's 7th Birthday - ARMY

dylan's ARMY party

dylan turns 7

the 1st grade gang (with some missing)
we just celebrated dylan's 7th birthday. we just invited kids from dylan's 1st grade class (kids of his choice). at the last minute some had gotten the flu, nonetheless, we had a nice turn out and the kids had a blast.
mr. montes telling them what is in their bags.
(see the old guy in the red sweater...he walks the neighborhood and is forgetful or something and he just stayed at the party forever...it was so sad...someone had to walk him home...poor guy, he didn't know where he was)
the kids doing push ups
(SORRY TO ALL VIEWERS DELETED SOME PHOTOS BY ACCIDENT)....

learning to walk like a soldier
jumping jacks
first we had the kids find the "platoon" (army men) around the front yard. they each had to find five, but after that they just ran around finding the rest... Then we did the obstacle course, which was three wardrobe boxes with army netting on the top (for a tunnel), six tires from a local tire shop (donated for a couple hours), balance beam (made by daddy), three hoola hoops holding a ball and then searching for shells(just another activity) in water with a spaghetti holder (they really liked this one, funny because i threw it in at the last minute to make the obstacle course longer). They loved it.

part of the obstacle course

next we lined up the tires in a three, two and one pyramid and we played a game called "bombs away" we filled about 100 water gran aide balloons and played a game trying to hit the water balloons in the tires. the kids wanted to get wet so we had the kids go on the opposite side of the tires and had all the parents help get them wet. (improvising is always good)

next we had two soldiers (real army guys) come and command the kids around, answer questions and teach them some exercises. the army guys also brought a back pack of army goods for the kids, backpack, bag, pencils, notebook, bracelet, army tags, pens, book covers and much more...it was soooo cool... the kids just loved it. then we made "thank you" cards to send to the troops with a picture of our group.
writing thank you notes to our troops

taryn just being cute
taryn found her bag as well

Since we are going through Proverbs as a family my latest favorite is and this is the NIV Adventure Bible.

"My son, hold on to good sense and the understanding of what is right. Don't let them out of your sight. They will be life for you. They will be like a gracious necklace around your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety. You will not trip and fall, When you lie down you won't be afraid When you lie down you will sleep soundly."
